David Spark, producer and co-host of the CISO/Security Vendor Relationship Series recently sat down with Remediant’s co-founders Tim Keeler and Paul Lanzi. The three discussed Remediant being recognized as a 2019 Gartner Cool Vendor and examined some of the key benefits of using Remediant’s PAM solution SecureONE.
Paul Lanzi, COO, and co-founder of Remediant touched on the “shock” that some of their customers feel after going through a half-day proof of concept assessment, where security leaders can see the amount of privileged access that exists within their ecosystem.
Because continuous monitoring and continuous enforcement are two of the main concepts behind SecureONE, Remediant can quickly address access issues by managing the distribution of privileged access via real-time, on-demand reporting and alerts. Unauthorized privileged access changes can be detected and eliminated, which can reduce the quantity of privileged access by 99%.
With Verizon’s 2019 Data Breach Investigations Report naming stolen credentials as the number one hacking attack vector for breaches, it’s imperative that organizations treat privileged access management as a priority.
Remediant’s architecture assumes that credentials have already been compromised – which helps reframe the problem to “what exposure did this identity have?”. This allows clients to focus on managing the authorization and stop lateral movement after credentials have been compromised, greatly reducing the attack surface.
